James Connolly

James Connolly is an Artist, Non-profit Founder and Documentary filmmaker in New York City and London. After graduating from The School of Visual Arts with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, James has worked as a realist painter, draftsman,sculptor and photographer and documentary filmmaker, showing in galleries across the US and in Europe and producing five films focused on the environment, cycles of poverty and food and agriculture. While living in England from 2006-2008, he developed a passion for food, food systems and nutrition, and the European culture of the meal as an expression of community. He’s trained as a chef at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in England and The French Culinary Institute in New York City. His studies on the nutritional aspects of food, issues of obesity and our historical and current model of food systems. In early 2010, James co-founded the Bubble Foundation to help educate children and their families about nutrition and fitness. His foundation supported over two dozen schools, teaching over a thousand children a week about food, farming, gardening and nutrition.
